9/28/929/30

Arrived Friday, at 3pm.. Melissa preparing to leave, both Bill/Jean resting in their room, after lunch. House all clean, Maria there in the am. Melissa stayed and picked up some food for them, Jean likes the chicken with rice from the greek place. Both eating, Bill not crazy about the seasioning, so I made him eggs/toast also. Jean asked to wash up for bed, brush teeth, we changed her gown and lotioned her up, seasonal change her skin is getting really dry. Both had all their pills, Jean called me up to put on her new coat she bought, wanted to sit in the chair wearing it. Both watching Hollywoodland, jJean really enjoying int, Bill insisting to change it back to Andy Griffith.. both kinda bickering about it. I offered Jean to come to living room and watch it, she wanted to fall asleep in bed.

Saturday--- Very uneventful, they slept in a bit, Skip called to have lunch on Sunday at QB, Jean reading newspaper, Bill reading parts too. Both eating breakfast. Jean sat in kitchen until 12 noon, reading, looking at her phone books, etc. Requested that we get halloween candy in the house in case Amanda brings kids over for trick or treating. For some reason she has painted over her new nails twice, first with frost white then with frost peach, she asked me to do it, I said Jean they are french tips, they look great now.. but she wanted it painted over (?) Both had lunch at 130.. salad with mandarin oranges,for jean/ grilled cheese BLT for bill Reminded Jean about lunch at 12 on sunday, suggested we take a shower before bed so we dont have to be rushed too much. she agreed, after dinner, I laid out her clothes and Bills too, and gave jean a shower, we need more Oil for her . Bill didnt want to shower, or brush his teeth, we may need to have Farooqui talk to him about his hygiene habits, we set it all up for him and make it really easy, short of us brushing his teeth ... he wont do it. And lately he has me comb his hair, and I try to prompt him "oh Bill you have combed you hair for years, you show me how you like it?" and he will respond no no you do it... I need my nanny. Jean gets really mad at him after that. Both ready for bed, stayed up til 1030!! watching documentary on Eisenhower, Bill wanted to turn tv off at 930 but Jean protested and got up out of her bed and sat at her desk with remote, both really bickering about this. TV OFF both getting ready to sleep. I cleaned up kitchen, ran dishwasher, set up Bills am food, finished laundry from maria, folded all the towels, and emptied the garbages.

Sunday... Skip called when they were eating breakfast, told them of the change from Lunch to dinner at 5pm at Tarbells, Jean happy she said she doesnt really care for lunch at 12 when she is eating breakfast at 930. Bill happy either way. Made all the beds, stipped both beds downstairs to wash, emptied all little cans and refilled with many bags, picked up kitchen table, orgainized shelf in Kitchen.. ps we need Sweet n Lo we have none I have been giving him splenda also only one OJ was ordered ? If there are more frozen or hiding I didnt see it, lets stock up on it and mocha mix cuz I only saw one of each. House all ready for Wedad, all supplies refilled, more toilet paper, jeans under briefs, clean towels, all garbages etc. Both of them are reading paper.

Sept. 24, 25

Melissa out/Ruth in---
Melissa let me know what has been going on here at the house, everything has been quiet with no problems. I made Bill and Jean lunch when I arrived, while they ate lunch we talked about what they would like from the grocery store. We made our list and I ordered groceries. Jean came out to the kitchen to read catalogs and magazines. We decided to order Macayo's and both ate very well, Jean is eating more than usual. After dinner they wanted to watch the DVD The Philadelphia Story that we got from Netflix, both stayed awake until 10:00pm.
Sept.25- Bill and Jean slept until 9:30am-- Made breakfast, while they ate and read the paper, I cleaned up their room. Made the beds, emptied trash cans, put out fresh depends and laid out the clothes for the day. Bill's old razor was full of old hair, so I washed it out, but we need to get some liquid cleaner for it. He prefers the old one to the new one, but I told him it was out of commission for awhile. After breakfast, I got Jean in the shower. Fleming's the bug man stopped by and I told him about the raccoon problem, he said he would lay out some poison for them. Went back to Jean to get her hair and make- up done. Bill started to shave and brush his teeth. He let me know that his razor wasn't working at all, so I shaved him myself. He then took a 23 second shower. When he turned the water off, I asked him if he washed his hair and he said "NO, I will do it tomorrow." I asked him to do it now since he was already in the shower, and he became very agitated at the thought.
1pm- we had an appointment at the Hearing Aid center on Hayden and Indian Bend. Dr. Calturo last week told Jennifer that a hearing aid might be a useful device for Jean, so I made the appointment to have Jean's ears tested. Jean has a thorough test at the office and the woman (an audiopithologist) told us that based on her data, Jean could benefit greatly from a hearing device. The technology today is far superior today than it was even 2 years ago. She gave us her full sales pitch and then gave us a price quote. I told her we would not be buying anything until Jean talked to Skip and Joan. We have the brochure and price list, I think we should do some more research before Jean decides. I had no idea what to expect when we walked into the office, I certainly did not expect the prices that she quoted us. So if anyone has some ideas please let me know.
3pm- Afternoon tea at the Ritz Carlton with Cookie and Cis. We stayed 2 hours at the Ritz, which is a very busy place. The food was not as great or creative as the tea we had on Valentine's at the Biltmore. I had higher expectations, Jean thoroughly enjoyed the service and the company.
5PM- Stopped by DV nails on Camelback- Jean got a mani/pedi, Bill got a Manicure.
6:30 home
6:45pm Safeway here with groceries

Sept. 17,18,19,20

Wedad out/Ruth in- Wedad let me know what was happening here at the house. John here at 2pm to work with Jean. I asked if he had any questions for the neurologist. He told me about 2 primary concerns he had with the tightening of Jean's left side. I wrote them down and emailed Joan to ask if she had any additional questions and to let her know that it would be Jennifer taking Jean to the appointment. Afternoon was quiet, cooked dinner and both had ice cream for dessert. Lights out by 10pm, Murder She Wrote is comes on at 9pm and Bill has been staying up to watch it. Saw 5 monster raccoons on the patio- they were swimming in the pool and then came up to the patio door and hung out for awhile. They looked like a family of raccoons, I don;t know much about them, but there was a huge leader and then smaller ones. They don;t seem to be very afraid of humans. I took a lot of pictures of them with my phone and they hung out for the photo session for some time.

Sept. 19- Rough night, Jean was talking all night, in loud, animated voices. Bill and I didn;t sleep at all. Jean was up by 5am thinking she had to get ready to go to the doctor. I told her the appointment wasn;t until 10:30am and she didn't have to get ready yet. Breakfast by 8am. 9am started getting Jean ready to go. 10am Jennifer here to take Jean. Jay showed up and I told him about the raccoons, he told me he has noticed rat droppings too. So I need to call Fleming's pest control next week and ask for rat bait to spread around.
Jennifer and Jean back by 2- Jean wanted to stop at Dillard's to buy some make up and came home with a watch too. Skip and Joan called while they were gone to tell me that Joan would be stopping by to have some documents signed. I called Joan when Jean came home and she said she would be over shortly. Safeway was here to deliver groceries, mostly thorough order. I forgot some staples, I put them on the list for next week. There is this fascinating series on the History channel about underground cities, we watched it for some time, Jean really enjoyed it, so can someone find out when it usually comes on, so we can watch it again?
I made potato salad and Bill and Jean had that for dinner. Jean was reading catalogs in the kitchen, deciding on x-mas gifts for the family when Cookie called. She asked if we could have lunch on Wed. with her and Cis. Arcadia Farms at 1:30pm-
Night was noisy again.
Sept 19- Breakfast- got Bill and Jean ready for lunch at 12pm- Met Cookie and Cis for lunch we stayed till they closed. After lunch- 4pm Jean wanted to stop at Nordstroms- Bill sat on the bench near the men's shoe dept., Jean bought a silver chain necklace- she says she might want to return. Receipts in fishbowl. Came home-
Thursday- cleaned house, trash, laundry, kitchen, floors swept and mopped. I thought John was coming at 11:15- showered Jean, hair and make-up. At 11:30am John wasn't here, I looked at the calender and noticed that John was to be here at 1:15pm, Jean is now reading fashion magazines.

Notes--

Coat that Jean wanted from Bloomingdales was order on Tuesday- should be here sometime next week.

After lunch on Wednesday- Jean wanted to go look at Skip and Joan's new house. We got out of the car and walked around the back and inside. The location is fabulous, they have the best views in the city, it is really a great house and I am SO jealous. Jean really was raving about how great it is and how great it is going to be. She was really excited to see it. Bill christened Skip's driveway and peed outside of his car door. Hopefully no one saw, it was pretty late in the day.

September 11, 12, 13--

Instead of doing multiple entries I decided to condense the week into one entry. The blogs are not a "pia, " but little has been going on, so I didn't really feel the need to bore my readers with mundane tasks. But here is the updates.

Jay the Gardener was hospitalized last week for stomach problems, he is very weak but managed to show up on 9/11 to hang some pictures for Jean. Jean told me that she wanted to keep him inside out of the heat, cause he looked terrible. Last week Jaime his helper and another guy came out on Wednesday to work on the yard. Jean wanted some flowers sent to the hospital, so I placed an order with Stems the florist for a small arrangement of flowers, Jay told me he never received them and Wedad didn't know what happened either. I called Stem's and the told me that Jay was in ICU and could not receive the flowers, by Saturday Jay was released so Stem's called here to get his home address and whomever was here told them they didn't know Jay's address and to cancel the order. I don't know his home address either so I guess we are going to have something sent here and he can take it with him when he comes over on Tuesday.
Wednesday- We got a late start, but Bill asked if we could go get his hair done, we drove over to V's which was unusually crowded, we had to wait awhile for a chair, once Bill was seated, Jean and I walked over to J.Crew, if anyone goes there in the future STAY AWAY from Gloria Jean the sales lady. She is very pushy and tried to get Jean to buy all kinds of unnecessary stuff. Walked to Coldwater Creek, bought nothing, went over to Chicos' and bought nothing but did get some fruit, cheese and crackers from them. Went back to V's to check on Bill, he wasn't finished so we walked over to Sur La Table. Jean got some Halloween gifts for Amanda, Grace and Katherine.
After Kierland we went to Ashley's, Jean got a Mani/Pedi, Bill wasn't in the mood. Then Dinner at Red Lobster, they split a Lobster, no dessert. On the way home we got gas and arrived home about 8:30pm
* I will take Jean to her neuro, appt. at 10:30 if no one else is available. Wedad can you stay with Bill??
*Bill also has a Farroqui appointment on Tuesday- can I get the B/S and Coumadin levels to take with me?
*If anyone has any questions for Farooqui or the neurologist can we get a list going to take with me??
*Changed the bedding on Bill and Jean's bed, emptied all trash cans, swept, mopped, scrubbed down counter tops, sinks, table, etc.
*John cancelled for Thursday, he had to go see a client that has cancer, will try for Friday.
Amanda called to confirm this afternoon's visit, she is looking forward to seeing her grandparents and will get snacks for Bill.
