December 20 Ruth

Thank you for the post Joan, Skip and you are in our prayers and we hope he remains cancer free. Bill and Jean are doing fine with the information that they received over the last two days. They were naturally worried for their son, but I think it did help that you both came here yesterday and explained everything to them in detail.
Last night Jean said she knew that it was for the best that you kept your secret from them, but she may give you both a finger thrashing later on this week for not telling her. The information has been processed and Bill is now okay after seeing Skip. They are looking forward to a Joyous Christmas.

On to the other business at hand. Charlae was here at 10am to give Bill and Jean a massage, she said that she called a few days ago, but someone forgot to write her in on the calender. No biggie, gave Bill and Jean massages. I showered both of them today, scrubbed Bill yesterday and this morning really good. Bill is in desperate need for a haircut and shave, so he can look cute on Christmas!!!
Cookie called and wants to go out with Jean today. She will be by at 2pm.

John here at 12:45pm and worked with Jean for about an hour, he is finishing up now.

Maroney's here to drop off the dry cleaning--he also told me that we need to call his cellphone if we need a pick up. He was very upset that someone called to complain about him not picking up the laundry. We now have two cards with his cell number....please call him directly.

John will be off for 2 weeks-

Skip surgery

In early November, Skip was diagnosed with prostate cancer. On 12/10, he had his prostate removed and was in the hospital for 5 days (not the flu!). He is now home and the pathology report says that he is 100% cancer free. They got it all!!! We told Bill and Jean yesterday and went over again today to make sure that they could see that he is well and healthy and understood everything. We didn't want to tell until we had good news and this most definitely is good news. Any questions?

December 18 and 19th Ruth

I arrived at 12:30pm to get the credit cards from Wedad so that I could return stuff. Wedad asked if I could stop by Penney's to get a pancake pan with Christmas trees etc. I told I would try. Went down to the Tempe Marketplace again to return the ULTA and World market items.

World Market return was 86.00 M/C and some change- musical instruments, a berry wreath and some berry sprigs.

ULTA- It took a long time for the girls to process the returns, they were rude and inquisitive as to why I would be returning so much stuff. I told them we simply changed our mind.
There will be 3 separate returns on the AMEX, the computer couldn't;t handle everything at once. I don't have the receipts in front of me, so I am recalling from memory the totals.

1ST- 343.00
2ND- 90.00
3RD- 14.76
This was perfumes, hair products, lotions, nail polish, etc.

I hurried back to Bill and Jean;s to pick up Jean and take her to the Doctor Khaled appointment. Our appointment was at 3:20pm and we were not seen until 5:30pm. It was dark when we left his office. Skip and Joan stopped by, they were in the area. They sat and chatted with Jean about Christmas shopping and plans for next week. Jean enjoyed her time and was very glad to see them. They had another appointment so left us after a half hour. Both will be by today to say hello to Bill.

Once inside the office, Jean and I waited and waited. At 5:30, Dr. Khaled came in, chastised Jean for not coming in, in over 4 years. His lecture wasn't as vicious as it was with Bill, but he indicated that it is very important that Jean be seen regularly. We went over medications, he had no changes for her. He also let us know that it is better for Jean to be on Coumadin, but her chart indicates that certain allergies to Coumadin prevent Jean from pursuing that route. He ordered 3 separate tests for Jean, routine maintenance, A complete Lipid, metabolic and cholesterol work up. An echo cardiogram and a nuclear stress test. These are basically the same tests that Bill had last month, however they require 4 separate days in which we will need two caregivers. I reminded Dr. Khaled about Bill's procedure, I asked him if it would be possible to schedule Jean's appointments until after Bill's January 15Th surgery. He said of course, he doesn't want to overwhelm Jean or her family with multiple appointments. The office will begin scheduling Jean the 3rd week of January, to give Bill plenty of time to recover.

Once Jean and I left the office, we stopped at the Starbucks around the corner and got much needed coffee. A marble macchiato for Jean and three shots of espresso for me. I called Wedad to let her know that we were on our way, she told me she placed a to go order at Red Lobster and I went to pick it up. The place was a madhouse and I had to wait awhile there too. Came home, Wedad and I got dinner on the table and Bill and Jean came out to eat. After dinner all was quiet. Jean was fairly exhausted from the day and slept soon after dinner, little talking throughout the night. Both slept very well.

December 19Th- Howard called at the crack of dawn- 8:09 am to tell me the Septic Company was here. I had completely forgotten about the appointment. I didn't know where the septic tank was located so I had to call Jay. We found it and the guy went to work. It took about an hour to empty out the tank and he gave me an itemized bill when he was through. All his notes are on the receipt. Apparently the drain field out there is saturated and may need to be rerouted somewhere else. It's in the notes. I paid him by check- $395.00.

After he left I went to work wrapping the rest of the gifts. Flemings pest control stopped by to spray the rest of the house and check on the ants.

It is quiet now, both are watching Matlock. I am going to shower Bill and Jean and get Bill to shave his beard today.

December 16-18

Arrived to find Bill and Jean resting in their bedroom. The collection of gifts under the tree have grown, not to mention the decorations all over the house. I know Jean is really trying to go all out with Xmas because she is anticipating the family on Xmas day for brunch.

Dishwasher still out of service, there are paper plates (etc) if needed. Good to know. Clothes were in wash, ran them through dryer.

Asked Bill and Jean what they were in the mood for dinner. SURPRISE SURPRISE, Bill asked for Mexican food. Altho he has gotten upset when we had it for him before. He asked for his usual-Green Corn Tamale and Cheese Enchilada, with Guacamole on the side, cheese crisp. Jean was excitted and ordered the same. But Jean also wanted Flan.

Both ate their meal, practically cleaned their plates. Gave Bill 1/2 portion of the flan, he ate it all and finished it off with a cup of decaf.

Melissa came by, instead of submitting grocvery order online, Melissa when shopping for us. Honestly we all prefer to have someone go for us, because there are so many times that the grocery delivery service screw up the orders and we end up having to go a week without specific important items, (ie-when they told us they were out of MILK-yes MILK). Gave Melissa the list, knowing full well that all the items will be purchased (at least most of the items).

Bill and Jean slept @ 945pm. Melissa brought in the groceries and put them away.

Jean talked a lot in her sleep - literally whole conversations, crying out, and laughing very loudly all night long-all the way until 845am...seriously.

MONDAY: Bill up @ 845am from Jean talking in her sleep. Had OJ and relaxed in his chair. Breakfast at 940am, woke up Jean.

Poached Eggs
Multigrain waffles
3 donut holes
Juice
Coffee

Ate all their breakfast and all their pills . Jean wanted to call Amanda to get Barbara's phone number. Left a message with Amanda. Flemmings called to confirm appt to check on the ant problem. Both headed back to their room. Dr Khaleds office called to confirm appt for 12/18-time had changed from 1220pm-320pm. Called Ruth to let her know. Also called Dr Villareal to cancel appt set for 330 on 12/18. Will call back to rescedule because they are pretty booked up until the new year.

Cleaned kitchen. Gave both fresh ice water. Watching Matlock.

11am, Jean wanted a shower to get ready for John. Washed, dressed and got her ready for her work-out. Offered to shower Bill, said he wasnt ready and maybe later. Told him he really needed to wash up and shave.

John came by @ 1230. Jean got a good workout. Wore her new shoes, really liked them. John massaged her hip because her foot has been cramping up on her. Gave John his Xmas present, bottle of wine from sportsmen.

Had lunch. Hot dogs (with the works-ketchup, mustard, onions, relish) with potato salad. Diet Gingerale and Diet V8. Ate all their lunch 100%.

Both resting back in their room. Started preparing dinner. Made 2 Omaha steaks for dinner. With mashed potatoes and sliced tomatoes. Ate 100% of meals. Followed by jean with chocolate cream pie. Bill had Mrs. Fields 100 calorie apple crisp, Bill loved it and especially because it wasnt high in fat or calories. Thanks to Melissa.

Headed back their room. Beds turned down, fresh ice water. Jeans foot is cramping up, needed me to help her into the bedroom. Her foot cramped to one side. Helped her into the bed, with heating pad on her hip, per Johns request.

Lights out @ 915, Jean arguing with Bill about watching TV, she wanted to stay up and it seemed like he purposely changed the channel to get the static channel. Jean got fed up and said OH BILL JUST SHUT THE DAMN THING OFF

Both slept welel through the night, Jean talked very little this night. Bill up only 3 times to use the potty.

Tuesday: Bill up @ 815am. OJ and tv. Breakfast at 930am.

Oatmeal
Toast
1/2 cinnamon roll
Juice
Coffee

Jay showed up and Jean had us running around decorating and moving things. Bill and Jean insisted that I write out Xmas bonuses for TC the garbage man and Jaime, Jays assistant. Both received a check for $50. Called A-American Septic tank people, will be here 12/19 between 8-9am. Cookie called Jean, talked to her through Jay;s cell phone, and made plans for 12/19 around noon. Jean, Cis, and Cookie to have lunch and maybe more. Also Flemmings will follow up on 12/19 with the ant issue.

Maria came at 1230, started working. Bill had me include $50 for her for Xmas bonus. Jean left with Ruth at 245pm to head to Dr. Khaled Appt. Prior to leaving both had Split Pea soup with crackers and diet gingerale and ice tea for jean.

Ruth called at 515pm to tell me they were still sitting in Dr Khaled office, in the exam room. He was running very late. Still waiting---Bill relaxing and able to watch anything he wants, happy but constantly asking about Jean every 15min.

Friday to Sunday Jennifer

Arrived to find Charlae her earlier than usual doing Jeans Massage. Bill's coumadin is 1.6 and he will continue on 6 mg of coumadin. Dr. Villareal appt rescheduled for 1045 on Friday, I will take Bill and hopefully we can pick out some lighter glasses that are sturdier for him.
Jean very very agitated all weekend, she was really getting on Bill about everything! I never ever heard them fight like that before, she just doesn't realize his cognoscente deficits or her own. I told her a million times that she has so many Xmas gifts and she has in fact over bought for many people. And that they have been wrapped by several of the girls and tagged, she insisted opening some of her gifts from HSN that I ordered and told her that these are for you, and yet I found her stabbing the package open with a pair of scissors, I told her jean that's for you, and she insisted on opening it, so she knows she has a jewelry cleaner, and its on the counter.
I also reiterated to her a million times that Skip has taken care of the check/bonuses ans she need not worry about any of it. She really laid into Bill about not knowing what was given to whom etc. So I told her that its all done, and xmas is 11 days away not in 2 days like she thought. I also told her that we will order or buy at Sam's club whatever she needs for the Xmas day buffet. She seemed happy with that.
House cleaned and picked up, Melissa and Jean bought tons of plastic wear since we have no dishwasher, and well as all the girls know dishes are in high demand here. Jean also wanted to get plates and platters for her buffet on Xmas day. The best thing they got was a really really good phone that actually rings and can be used when your back in the bedroom! oh my! and the best life saver of them all Walkie talkies! They are crystal clear, Bill can hear you, and they last without being charged up all night! saves you a lot of unnecessary running around.
All laundry done, small load left in dryer and another to be washed from Jeans shower.
Put all of jeans pillows and rugs around as she wanted to add some decorations and there new blankets.
She raved about the new nail salon and said they massaged her legs for an hour lol , She said the Tempe marketplace was amazing and she had fun having me use her new products on her.
Sat with Bill while Jean and Melissa went out. He really really likes the Laurel and Hardy videos and they both love the Hitchock presents videos.. thanks Ruth for getting them.
PS I broke the white small pitcher for milk :( it was an accident It slide off the wet counter as I was doing dishes.
All garbage emptied, beds made, Jean needs a pad on her bed, its in wash. All toilet paper refilled.
Left message with Donhauser about sewer system to see if he can recommend someone to come here and pump it.
Thank goodness for the All the candles covering up the stench!

Thursday dec 13th- friday dec 14th

I arrived on Thursday just after 3 Pm, Bill and Jean were in their room relaxing and watching TV, i asked about how their week was going jean told me the she and Ruth had went to the Tempe market place several days ago and what a good time she had , I told her that i had heard about her shopping spree at the beauty store(the $800 dollar one)and she told me that they had over charged her on many of the items , and that many of the items were getting returned , which she seemed happy about(good job Ruth!) .She told me that the items that she did keep were in the bathroom , but all i found was some heel cream and some sea salt type of body scrub, then she showed me the cute stuffed animals form world market under the tree, i love them!
All in all Thursday was pretty uneventful , I called Flemming's about the ant family that has taken up residence in the kitchen cabinet , they are coming on Monday.
Friday i started preparing breakfast earlier than usual in Lu of bills early eye doc apt. Jennifer called at 830 to tell me that she had called the eye doc to get their exact location and that they were just going to call us to tell that they were moving our apt to the following Friday , at 1045.
At 12 pm charlea arrived, she worked on bill first concentrating on his legs at his request, then she worked on jean. shortly after charlea left Jennifer arrived with lunch. After lunch we went to walmart , Jean wanted to get so new new slippers , she had been complaing about the 2 pairs that she has, they do not stay on well.
We also got some much needed items ; paper plates ,paper/plastic type platters , Styrofoam coffee cups, plastic cups, and plastic cutlery, in light of the fact that the dishwasher will be broke for the next 2 weeks through Christmas. Walkie talkies , sometimes we are not always right outside bill and jeans room, new phones so that we don't miss any calls when we are in the back bedroom , 2 microplush fleece throw blankets , a maroon one for jean and a navy one for bill, that way he does not have to use his bathrobe any more.Jean got some super soft pink bootie type slippers which she loves , they stay on much better than the other pair. we also got just a few food items, cereal, lo cal juice and crackers. On the way back we stopped at cvs, sonic tooth brush and other items she wanted. to get some more bennedryl , tums ect. by the time we got home it was almost 8 pm , Jennifer was so excited about the phones and walkie talkie, we had researched them online before we went to store and found a great phone but we were unsure if they would carry it(they did :) ).i got Jean into her PJ's and we called it a night.

December 15 Ruth

I went out into the madhouse that is called Christmas shopping to return said items. ULTA and World Marrket both required the credit card in order to refund the amounts back to AMEX. I didn't have the credit card with me since I am home for the weekend. Both stores offered me store credit, which, I declined. I will try to return the things on Tuesday when I am out with Jean.

December 11, 12 and 13th- Ruth

Arrived at 9am to take Jean to the lab for blood work. She was very upset and wanted to get over with as soon as possible. We had some trouble as Jean predicted, the first girl couldn't find any veins and poke Jean a few times before she finally gave up. The next woman came in and poked around but finally got all the blood that she needed from Jean.

We quickly ran out of there, I asked Jean what she would like to do today, she said she would like to go to Penney's and some other places. We headed down to Tempe....I wanted to see the new Marketplace. We had lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen and then went shopping. She got Bill some sweater vests, Skip a sweater, some sweaters and shirts for herself and a coat with little sparklys. After that we walked to Target and got a new battery for her Xmas watch. While she sat at the jewelry counter waiting for the battery to be fixed, she perused some jewelry that she had to have. I went to the restroom and left her with the M/C. She bought 4 pieces, 2 of them can definitely go back. They aren't hideous for Target, but they definitely look like they could fall apart. Boxes are in her bathroom with Tags, receipt is near the toaster oven for returns later.

We went to the shoe pavilion where she bought shoes, hats, socks, peds and tried to get a few high heels, but I told her no way.. they were too unsafe and Dr. Campbell would not approve. She agreed and we left the heels.

After we went to the World Market, bought quite a lot of things. The majority of it will be returned this weekend. She bought some musical instruments, more wreaths and berries. The things in the last sentence are to be returned.

We went to the best nail salon that we have ever been too. The girls were fabulous, the salon clean and peaceful. Even though it is in Tempe it is so worth the drive, they were great. Massaged Jean's feet and legs for at least 20 minutes, she actually fell asleep in the chair.

After the nail salon, we drove to Phoenix and sat in traffic for awhile. I wanted to give Jean time to dry. Went to ULTA and spent way too much..... Many of these items will also be returned this weekend. Perfumes, overpriced hair products, lotions etc. We over did it at ULTA and about half of the stuff is going back. I explained it all to Jean and she totally agrees.

Then Sportsmans, bought wine for John, Skip, and Christopher. John gets the one that has a silver cap. It is the cheaper version. Stopped at Jack in the Box for Bill's hamburger and onion rings and came home.

Wedad and I emptied and washed all cupboards, they were infested with ANTS..... half eaten candy bars and granola bars are the culprit. Please do not put half eaten stuff back in the cupboard and wipe down the syrup before putting it back in.

All of us slept well.

Wedneseday--

I expected a quite day, but had no luck. Jean wanted to move things around, put up more lights on her balcony, wrap gifts etc.

Did 5 boxes of Bill's pills- all have 6 mg of Coumadin. If Farooqui changes it again, please switch out Coumadin. We currently have 5mg and 6mg in the drawer.

Dishwasher dude here at 2pm. Monitor on the front of the dishwasher is broken again, they will not be back until the 26th of December. So we have a few weeks of handwashing to go.

Thursday-

Fed Bill and Jean and then scrubbed both of them down in the shower.

Dr. Khaleds office called to let me know that they received the results for Jean's blood test. Everything looks fine, and they will see us on Tuesday.

Took Jean to Bday girls with Bill. We met Christine there and she will bring Jean home.

Feel better Joan. See you next week.

Have a good weekend everyone.

December 11

Bill and Jean up @ 830am. Jean has to fast for the blood work she is having done today. Headed up stairs and started giving her a shower. Ruth showed up @ 9am an finished getting Jean ready while I worked on Bills breakfast. he must have been hungry because he came out to the kitchen without me asking him.

Poached eggs
english muffins w/ sf jam
OJ
coffee
banana

Jean and Ruth headed out @ 10am to the lab.

Bill headed back to his room @ 11, after jay arrived. Called me in to ask for something other than water to drink. brought him diet gingerale. Jay was around lingering here and, finally I had to go downstairs to get away.

Made bill lunch @ 2pm, he asked for soup. made him roasted pepper and black bean, with guacamole, an toast. he ate most everything. then asked for some cookies, gave him 5 graham crackers and fat free milk.

Ruth called to say that they were delayed at the lab because they coulnt get jeans blood. didnt leave there until 1pm. took jean out to get food and she wanted to get some things from out and about. So i am here with bill.

December 10

Bill was up @ 820am, got his OJ and Banana. Had trouble changing the channels and forgot how to use his old remote, got him all squared away, not before him waking Jean up.

Made breakfast:

Oatmeal w/ milk (no more mocha mix-thank goodness)
toast w/ sf jam
coffee
juice

Both sat on the table with their breakfast until around 1130am, reading the paper and tlaking about what will be going on the next few weeks. Jean was telling Bill that there is still a bunch more shopping she would like to get done before the kids come over. Bill just smiles and nods.
Clean bedrooms, made beds-fresh ice water, found a Matlock marathon on for them. Both resting.

UPS delivery, jeans trench coat-black pleather....

Headed back and cleaned the kitchen, washed dishes, swpt/mopped (bill spilt oatmeal on the table/floor).

Groceries were delivered @ 1pm and spent the next few hours, putting everything away-plus emptying cabinets and throwing away all the old things. Everybody really needs to keep on top of empting old things from the fridge and closets, it gets kind of gross.

Made lunch- cheese crisps, salsa, guacamole, gingerale, ice tea.

Cleaned the lunch dishes, washed them up. Jean played around in her clothes closet, pulling out outfits and rearraning them in different areas.

Both resting now, I asked what they were in the mood for dinner. Jean liked the idea of raviolis and Bill said he would like chili. Started preparing dinner from 4pm. Dinner was done by 6pm, and surprisingly Bill acted like a little child being served lima beans or something. He suddenly didnt want the chili and wanted Jeans raviolis instead. Kind of surprised at his reaction, never been so abrupt before or rude when it came to food before. No problem, all fixed, made more raviolis and he ate. They both had LIGHT peppermint ice cream for dessert.

Beds were turned down, Jean washed up for bed, bill kept saying he would do it later. Went to clean kitchen. I went back into the room to give jean a shower and she said she would rather do it tomorrow.

Lights out @ 9pm. Jean talked a lot during the night. Bill was up four times for the bathroom.

December 9

Came in to find the house all ready. Jennifer had already prepared them lunch, so all is well except for the dishwasher that is out of commission, ugg!! Jennifer showed me the gifts that she had been busy working on wrapping and getting ready. Some gifts arrived for Jean-from Bill (wink-wink) necklace/ring. Extra photo frames from Jeans last shopping trip to pottery barn were lying around. Jean said she bought them for someone-but cant remember for who...there happen to be 3 of them.

Starting working on dinner, chicken (breast-bill/thigh-jean) with cream of mushroom . Made side of stuffing and veggies (Bill doesnt do string beans, so he had corn). Both ate their entire plate, said they enjoyed, kind of surprised. Gave Bill an jean both a cup of decaf after dinner, jean had her spiced rum creamer, loves it.

Headed back to their room to turn down the beds, refresh their ice waters. Turned the heat up, because both were complaining that it is too cold. Temp was @ 75, moved it up to 76.

Both headed back to their room for a marathon of hitchcock shows. Bill calls me up to inform me that hot air was coming out of the vent. Jean was sitting at her desk and she starting laughing. She told him what he expected when he had me make the house warmer. I guess he realized what he said too, because he gave out a little chuckle and said never mind.

After about an hour, he calls me back in to tell me it is too warm, I should have guess that would happen from the previous mention. I lowered it back to 75.

I made up a grocery list of things from safeway. I picked up some supplies from sams club, the bulk items like detergent-cookie sheets, household cleaner, milk, receipts in drawer. Jean mentioned a few items that she needed in the house. She mentioned items she wants for the upcoming xmas brunch-now that it was moved from xmas eve dinner to xmas day brunch. The things she wants to get-party trays, cheeses, crackers, etc....i told her they woul be better to get from sams club, big ticket items are cheaper there than trying to buy from grocery store and have them delivered, kind of costly.

830pm, went and washed Bill and Jean up for bed. Gave Jean a shower, tried to get Bill moving, but he wasnt up to moving. Finally got him up, through the help of Jean, to at least wash face an brush teeth. Kept calling me over to ask where the toothpaste was, altho it was right next to him, - just not motivated to clean up, so he made sure you knew it. Almost as if he wanted me to give up and stop watching over his shoulder, tough cookies!!! ---even Jean wouldnt let up on him.

Lights went out @ 950pm, kind of late.

Bill called me up @1245am, to tell me that the room was warm, his blankets were untucked, and couldnt find his tums (which were next to his bed). I lowered the temp to 74*, hopefully this will make everyone fine.

Jean yelled out a few times in her sleep, about needing new gloves to go with her new snow suit.

Bill up @ 840am.

JENNIFER SUNDAY

much worse, he sounds very gurgley and I can hardly hear any breath sounds toward the top of the thorax, where you should here very high pitched blowing air (and i have a cardiologeListened to Bills lung and heart sounds, it is my opinion that his CHF (congestive heart failure) stethoscope, it can hear a pin drop) His heart has an extra beat in it, we all have 2 but

Yesterday, Jean went out with Skip and Joan for Macayos, she had a great time, she confided in mean that she really felt like part of the conversation. Bill stayed behind, he didn't feel like going, and he said he hates Mexican food, not sure when that started but he told me a few times yesterday. He had me ask Skip to bring him a cheese crisp and guacamole. I guess my turkey dogs and chili didn't appeal to him. lol. Bills breathing was OK yesterday, he is really really winded, I gave him a good scrub down yesterday, from head to toe! He even let me oil him all up, I made the shower steamy to help his breathing. He is very very agitated about the water temp, cold-hot too hot too cold, so if anyone has a mark they usually put it on let me know. Changed his clothes, he shaved and brushed his teeth. Gave him the inhaler and had him sit up more to alleviate pressure. Jean also had a head to toe shower with her body scrubs/foo foo spa style before dinner.

as 3, which is normal for CHF and heart failure, despite the pacer and defib. The valves are leaky so the blood is just going backwards and not getting enough o2 rich blood where it needs to go. I hope the angiogram can widen the artery and help to clear the blockage.

Keep him moderately resting, give him the inhaler 2 times a day, steam shower, and sit up right, if its really hard for him, you can put his table in front of him and have him lean on it forward like a tripod, this really helps it uses gravity.

Dishwasher, ad nausea... with doing dishes lol

Jeans gift 3 of them arrived from HSN, if someone can wrap them.

Also Jean is antsy about bonuses and fought with Bill all am about how he knows nothing, and all he does is watch boob tube, and she cant hold a conversation, etc. Poor Bill, he threw his hands up and said OK OK Ill shut up then. Talked to Joan and she said Bill will bring checks for Xmas over mid week, I made out cards already and put it on table in foyer.

The other gifts should be arriving any day, all the "men's" gifts are tagged and wrapped, she also has a rain slicker coming. And a jewelry box and sonic cleaner for jewelry.

Found target receipt.. quite a lot missing, I asked Jean she said "i probably bought it as Xmas gifts for Jordan/cookie" I told her the other Target/walmart receipts from the recent past, you said the same thing about. She replied well she doesn't work anymore, so she comes clear over here from 300th avenue just to see me, I don't mind buying a few things." I said okay jean we will keep receipts here in case you or Cookie need to return any of it. Shes happy to get out and cookie is reliable to come and spend time with her, and socialize, which she needs too.

House clean.. all beds made, sheets changed, washed put away, all garbage's emptied and refilled, all toilet paper refilled, all OJ/ milk/ apple juice restocked for next person.

No work left for Wedad. ukh but dishes lol

PS Ruth No coffee here! i opened cabinet up and bag left un secured, it fell all over floor! sorry

I tried to highlight and it flipped all my paragraphes around ukh sorry its so irrational

JENNIFER SATURDAY

Rough night last night, both Bill and Jean were up all night long. Jean was itching so bad, at 2 am I took off her night gown, lotion her with cortisone and aveeno, and gave her a benadryl, her eyes are really red, and dry around them. Bill was up all night, he said he couldn't breath, I gave him 2 insp of his inhaler, repositioned him with two pillows under his head, turned him on his left and had him bring his knees closer to his chest. At 4 am he still was very uncomfortable so I had him come switch to the chair, with his pillow and blanket, I found him at 7am still sleeping there. I brought him breakfast and gave him another puff of his inhaler. He is more comfortable now. Helped him to the bathroom to change his clothes, unsteady and weak, but we used the walker. Jean sleeping in bed again , she is worn out too.

Cleaned up kitchen, Dishwasher broken, attempted to reset circuit etc, to no avail, washing all dishes by hand. Tech coming out on Wed. Made breakfast, made the beds, emptied all garbage's, washed up sheets and jeans gown from accident.

PS Jean very anxious about xmas and eve, explained to her it was LONS AT 530 ON XMAS EVE, she is really having hard time comprehending this, she had me call Chris and then Amanda yesterday. Will try Chris again today, Jean wants xmas day here at 1130 for pastries and coffee and present opening. Omaha steaks already coming, Jean had Ruth order 16 50z steaks, I suggested we keep a few here and she said she would give the rest to the boys as they often grill. Christines present arrived, will wrap/bag, waiting for rest of Jeans from Bill. Dudleys was delivered on 12/4 but havent heard from him, I hope hes not in Park City.

JENNIFER

Real quick, just got back with Bill from Dr. Farooqui's his INR was 1.4 and wants to increase the coumadin to 6mg. PA saw bill, looked at his face, was really concerned that we didn't take him to ER, I explained that caregiver assessed him and his son talked to him with in minutes, and it was determined that he wasn't gonna go to ER. I didn't even chance it with Bill today I took him right in the wheelchair, I don't want him to fall anymore.

And I agree with Jean, unnecessary trips that are non medical should be avoided. If there is a dinner maybe someone can pick Jean up, rather than risking Bills safety and Jeans safety as she will insist she can do something independently (that is dangerous) . Bill is increasingly unstable, weak his gait is awful and his mental acuity is really really declining.
Today he asked me if this test the INR means he has to stay in the hospital today??? He has called Melissa all day to ask how to use the remote, he has a new remote just like had but claimed hes never used it before. I'm sure increased o2 perfusion will make a HUGE difference in his activity and mental alertness.
Also Jean claimed that she spent 500 with cookie at Target, and that she bought flash lights?? miniature ones, for the opera and viewing menus in fine restaurants anyway.. does anyone know where the flashlights are OR the receipt for cookies Xmas shopping.. oh mean the Xmas shopping Jean did with Cookie..

December 6 2007 Ruth

Finished up what I believed is the rest of the shopping online yesterday. However, Jean still is looking through catalogs picking out stuff. Her latest must have is a flatware set from Horchow that is 150 for 20 pieces. I told her it may go on sale after Christmas and convinced her to wait. If she asks anyone else to order tell her it is already ordered.

I called the pharmacy to find out when the net batch of Coreg is to be sent out, cause I only have enough pills to get Bill through till the 22nd of this month. The next batch will be sent out net week, but he has 6 months worth of refills.

Nurse Debbie from Dr. Khaled's office finally got back to me. Bill is scheduled for surgery on the 15th of January at 9am. He needs to go to outpatient administration at 7am to prep him for surgery. Once the doctor performs the angiogram they will determine whether or not Bill needs a stint. If everything works out and blood is flowing well, they will release him the same day. If there are any complications he will be admitted into the hospital for observation.

I asked Nurse Debbie about the amount of Coreg Bill is on and the effects it is taking on him. I explained what had happened on Sunday and that the medication was making him abnormally dizzy. She will page Dr. Khaled and relay the information to him. Once she has an answer, she will call my cell phone. He is on the lowest possible dose though and she was surprised that it was taking such a toll on him. I will post whatever response I get from the nurse or doctor.

When is the dinner at Lon's??? Jean is under the impression that Christmas eve is here and had me order Fillet Mignon's for the dinner. She thought that it would be easier for Bill, and if there is a dinner on Christmas night, she could go alone. She is very worried about Bill and doesn't want him going anywhere unnecessarily.

Just got off the phone with Nurse Debbie- NO COREG FOR BILL UNTIL AFTER THE PROCEDURE. I have taken out the pills from his boxes.

December 4,5th

House fairly quiet after a very busy weekend. Got here early, to find Jay rearranging all the hard work Jennifer and Melissa had already done. General complaints abound from Jay... which quickly went in one ear and out the other.
Wedad updated me about the weekend and she told me that Bill took a nasty spill in his room. She patched him up as best as she could but he looks pretty bad.
Gave Bill and Jean some lunch and then got Jean ready for John. Gave her a shower, did hair and makeup, and lotioned her body.
John her by 3:30pm, Jean and John went out for a walk. Did some work inside afterwards.
Night was quiet, Jean slept really well and Bill didn't get out of bed until 8:30am. Bill ate breakfast alone in kitchen, because Jean was still sleeping. Jean up by 10am, went back to clean their room, empty garbage cans etc.
Jean stayed in the kitchen looking at catalogs and magazines. Skip stopped by to say hello, stayed for about 45 minutes. Jean says that they may have dinner this weekend or lunch but she wasn't sure when.
I made a Villareal appointment for Bill and Jean to get the eyes checked. The appointments are on two separate days though. The earliest possible for Bill was Friday the 14th at 10:15am. Jean's is the following Tuesday at 3:30pm. She also has a Khaled appointment that day, so we will be out and about.
Next Tuesday the 11th, I will be in early to take Jean to get her lab work done. She needs to fast for 12 hours beforehand, no breakfast pills until after the test. Afterwards I will take her to get her nails done and stop by Sportsmans- she wants to pick up some Spanish wine for John and Christopher.

DR. BAHU APPOINTMENT IS AT 3:30PM ON THURSDAY THE 3RD 2008

xmas present update

Okay Just finished all of Jeans requests for Xmas, I tried to make heads or tails of things, that she bought in front of me, but now says that its for so and so and not who she said it was for etc.

Anyway long story short-

POPCORN ORDERED FOR DUDLEY/SHARON SENT TO SAN DIEGO ADDRESS

THINGS REMEMBERED, KEY CHAIN/MONEY CLIP ENGRAVED COMBO FOR ALL BOYS

HSN-GAUDY JEWELRY I found it faux she wanted real deal from Needless Markup (neiman marcus) for 875.00! haha, and a see through jewelry box, some other costume jewelry, and a shiny rain slicker black, also a good sonic cleaner, this is all from BILL wink wink to Jean, even though she chose it all.

Christine, she ordered a multi pack skin care total body package type deal.

Its all gonna come here to Was's except of course Dudley's. The silver clips are engraved and boxed and tagged with the corresponding name on it. I sent all confirmations to this email was.caregivers for anyone to review.

JENNIFER 11/30-12/2

BILL-

coumadin 1.8 on 5mg coumadin continued.
Has had chronic diarrhea, gave him Imodium third dose in 48 hours, very hydrated, he is 239.8 at 4pm scale is finicky has to be on a level surface or it will not work. I posted a note on his side of the sink with his wt and the date. He is being compliant, yet still requests cereal after dinner in just low of a volume so Jean wont break into a tirade on him. I just give him half a cup of cereal and no mocha mix is making a big difference. He had a massage by Charlea, and a really good scrub down shower. He watched the USC UCLA game when Jean was gone and really enjoyed it.

JEAN-
Did really well this weekend, she went to her hair appt. and had two showers, last one on Saturday. She had a massage by Charlae, and stayed up till 930 with Melissa and I decorating the house, we made a fire, and put on the Xmas carols for her and let her direct us. She had a lot of fun at the Rockettes, she was picked up at 1230 despite the fact that I wasn't informed by Cookie that she would be picked up at 1230 and not 2 as she originally said. Jean broke out her complete winter gear, fur vest and all! She sat and went over about 25 catalogs this weekend x ing out everything.

XMAS DECORATING

I decorated the whole outside of the house and the back balcony, with the various lights and ornaments that Jean had purchased. Jay really has not much to do, if anything and I know he was really rude to the other caregivers about the need for Cookie etc, and I honestly don't know what his validation is, as Melissa and I saw all xmas decor put away and labeled by Ruth in the garage. The only mess I saw was the jumbled mess of old and new decor Jay left sitting outside haphazardly. I will refer him to Joan if he has any issue with the decorating, bottom line is Jean had a ball and she was very, very satisfied with it.

Chores-

House all clean, both Jean and Bill showered, ALL laundry done, dried and put away. Changed Jeans sheets from her accident, replaced them on bed. All garbage's emptied and refilled with several bags. Dishwasher unloaded, cleaned up kitchen. Put away all Xmas decor in bins, need to sweep up stray needles, but I'm hesitant as they need to move trees yet. Refilled all toilet paper, tissues (we are out of), and refilled Jeans panties.

Xmas- Jean wants to order the following things, I may do it Sunday before I go, but I need to get a hold of Ruth/Wedad as they know the amex billing address.

Dudley/sharon/mia/Ryan, lola- gourmet popcorn tin, large

Neiman Marcus- Majorca pearls multicolored with beige pear earring 295.00 +75.00 for Jean from Bill for additional gift she picked out.

As for the steam cleaner, I wasn't implying that the carpets weren't sufficiently cleaned from the past stains (people, animal, other) I just thought having one on hand is better, as sometimes cleaned stains re surface over time, despite the best efforts to clean them. And since we have 4 people basically living down in the one room, it would be hygienic to clean it every now and again. Not to mention the stains accumulated around Jeans bed, path to her bathroom and Bills chair.

Will take Bill to Dr. F next Friday, hope everyone has a great week!
Ps can someone volunteer to itemize Jeans xmas gifts, and who exactly they all go to, so that I can wrap/bag them this weekend, also a little description of what it is would help, so we dont have to do the corner tear off. I highly suggest doing this with Jean so she rembers, as in the past what happens she buys 5 of something, and Cis pops over and she wants to reciprocate with a gift, and Jean forgets that she only has 4 left of whatever it is and swore she bought 10. Forgetting she gave one to Cis, (just an example)

January 3rd

What time is Bill's appointment 1/3? I have a 3:30 appointment that I have to go to.

Thanks for doing the Christmas decorations. I know what a huge job that is. Very much appreciated and important to Jean and Bill.
