Night went very smoothly, Bill and Jean watched a movie that we received from Netflix called My Favorite Wife. Jean was complaining about her foot, she could barely walk on it last night, I helped her to the bathroom and then we put an ice pack on her ankle.
Bill had no Coumadin last night per Farooqui, and I took out his Lasix, Potasium, Diovan and Metformin for the morning pills.
Had breakfast on the table at nine, Bill needed to stop eating and drinking by 9:45am. Wedad called about today's events and I asked her if anyone could come in. I called Melissa and left a message, Wedad called Jennifer and Jennifer said she would be glad to come in.
After breakfast, I gave Bill a long hot shower and scrubbed him head to toe. I also scrubbed his scalp for a good 2 minutes. He wouldn't shave himself so I also shaved his long overgrown beard. Dried him off and then he got his socks and boxers on. Jennifer arrived, she baked cookies for Jean who was still in the kitchen reading catalogs and then helped Bill get dressed. I went downstairs to get ready and gather the kittens.
The original plan was to get the cat and kittens leave the house early and deliver them to "kitten rescue," getting them in a box was more of an ordeal than originally planned. After getting 4 of them into a box, I grabbed the 5th hissing mongrel to put in the box and the little monster turned around and bit me!!! After being in contact with animal control the week prior I knew that a bite qualified us for a pick up. So I immediately called, Jennifer then came down and asked what happened. I told her "your vicious rodents bit me," she poured hydrogen peroxide on my finger and took the phone from me to wait for the Maricopa animal people to get on phone. Jennifer gave them our information and my information(for my potential rabies/worm infection) and they said a truck would be sent out within the next 4 hours to set out traps.
Got Bill in the car and headed out to Farooqui's, Coumadin was checked and the INR is 1.7 today. Coumadin is knocked down to 5mg and Farroqui wants to see Bill in 2 weeks. Far. also wants Bill to see a urologist, but it isn't an immediate issue can wait a few weeks. He wants to monitor Bill closely and wants Bill to take it easy for awhile. I asked the doctor about the Coumadin machine being recalibrated and he said bring it in any time.
Had time to kill, took the Caddy to fill up and wash- that killed about 20 minutes. Got to the testing center early and had to wait. Once inside the Nuclear medicine administrator explained the entire proedure for both days and made sure that Bill understood what was going to be happening. Injected Bill with a solution to allow the machine to scan images of his heart at a resting pace. Also talked to her about the medications to hold. Joan and I were given different instructions that only thing I need to hold tomorrow is the Lasix and the caffeine. Tomorrows test is going to be much more difficult for Bill than today. They will inject with Adenosine, "don't quote me on that." but it is a chemical that will mimic strenous exercise on his heart. The woman told us that Bill would not feel well while he was undergoing this process and may become flush. They will monitor his heart tomorrow for about an hour and a half. Today's office visit was the easy part. Had a couple of bathroom breaks and then to the car. Bill wanted to go home, so we did.
Once home I was pleasantly surprised to find the dog catcher truck in front of the house. Apparently Jennifer and the DOg catcher caught all the kittens and cat. DING DONG, the nasty cats are gone!!! The cats will be tested and quarantined for rabies and worms and they will let us know what the results are.
Everything is quiet. Jennifer and Jean went to Target to pick up some much needed supplies and I order dinner from Busters. Got Jean out of the house for a bit!
